I went out to Silver Falls with the best intentions. New camera, new lens, new enthusiasm. Conditions were great, tons of fall color and fog, lots of flow in the falls; I even had the pleasure of bumping into Gavin Hardcastle (aka Fototripper) and @markdenneyphoto
in the lodge out of the blue. The rest of the day felt like absolute bliss. Fast forward to the next day: I’m excitedly sitting down at my comp and start reviewing all my images only to find I made some sort of noob mistake on practically every decent image I got 🙄😆 So, by the power of some editing and taking some ‘artistic’ liberties, I at least made SOMEthing out of my failure and decided to share them to make a couple points 😉 Lessons learned: Don’t get overly excited by your surroundings or meeting photography celebs that you become unfocused and don’t think through the correct settings for a scene, keep things simple and get it right IN CAMERA, and lastly, don’t get sucked in to the obvious compositions even though they may be easier. Alright that’s it for me. Bye now!
